Artist Statement
I paint to focus on what matters most to me and let color, movement and energy guide the process. My work responds to memories, moments and the cultural figures who have shaped the way I see the world. As a quadriplegic artist, I adapt and improvise to find new ways of painting and creating so I can fully realize my work. My paintings convey experiences and the emotions and connections that remain after a moment has passed. I want my work to spark curiosity and open conversations about the experiences and perspectives of people with disabilities.
