My name is Glenneisha Darkins or Glenny. I am a quadriplegic mouth-painter from Miami, FL.
In November of 2010, I was involved in a traumatic car accident that severely effected my four limbs. My physical disability is called quadriplegia. In spite of my disability, I’ve accomplished quite a lot that I am motivated to share with whomever crosses my path. To name a few, I received my degree in B. A. in Psychology with an area in Women’s and Gender studies from the Florida Int’l University in 2018. In 2014, I wrote and self-published my first book called Freedom Chair: An Open Diary of A Quadriplegic. Now, I am finally rolling in my purpose as an artist and a public speaker. My goal is to inspire and motivate through my story and my art. I hope to educate the world on dismantling the misconceptions of individuals with disabilities. Ultimately, I hope to help someone else feel the courage and strength to overcome their own obstacles, discover their own purpose and share their stories.
Every piece is a body of work from the mouth of a woman who once felt defeated to now exemplifying courage, empowerment and resiliency. With that being said, I hope you leave feeling inspired and motivated!
